I destroyed alll the Rifts in the Lagoon and when I got back, the Captain changed the mission to Jaya Bluffs again.

It would've been nice if they implemented something in the Rings game to discourage afk and encourage active participation--such as if the winning ring touches X, Y, and Z, those rings are sure not to be the next winning rings, or something like that.

;(

That would make predicting the next winning ring too easy. Then people will complain how it's too easy to win.

or if they added some sort of AFK blocker that after each round, all players auto teleported back out right beside the place to buy tickets! i find it a good idea to make it impossible to have your character sitting there all night long...

I would like to do this incredibly hard mission just because i HIGHLY doubt that the only reward is 50 orbs. There has to be some extra thing to it. Just like it said in another post, the GW site says that the emperor will come and reward TRUE HEROS of cantha. I think maybe if we do this quest we will get somthin special on the last day or somethin......but there is no way to find out untill the last day... I can always be hopefull though. Plus I like this mission. I think it is hard, yet fun in a odd, sorta twisted way.

O and has anyone accually got ectos from this or is it just an uncomfirmed thing from guild wiki? And y are people saying somehing about a 25% chance and ectos and this quest, all in the same sentence? (I know I've either seen someone say this in a thread here in guru, or in game, not sure which) Is it a 25% chance of gettin ectos instead of orbs or somethin? I highly doubt it would be a 25% chance of enemies dropin it... I got to 3 rifts left (if you're wondering, i got that far with a tank, me (monk), an ele, and a summoning rit), and no one in my group got any ecto drops... It would be great if someone can clear me up on this 25% thing.
I have completed the Haiju Lagoon mission twice, with the following teams:

R/Me, N/R, W/Mo, Mo/W
Mo/Me, N/Me, N/Mo, Rt/Me

And Jaya Bluffs with:
Mo/Me, W/Mo, N/Mo, E/Me

All three teams were running an MM, which isn't necessary at all. The most efficient team, imo, was the one without a tank, ritualist spirit spamming helps tremedously, but all teams were good, and all were PUGs.

Trial and error would be to your benefit if you are having trouble with certain builds, professions etc... And when someone dies, if you have those who can't accept it and move forward, there will be problems. Generally, someone will die, not a must, but it happens.

I have to say ecto drops are a rumor as far as I know. The best drop I have seen was a gold set of Korambits that were below mediocre. All drops were "meh" tbh.

I made a point to complete both missions offered thus far with one character just to see if there may be something in the future, but the fun was in the completion. It was a challenge, and a welcome break from the norm.

It seems like theres a lot of people who need to be informed about whats happenin in the dragon festival. I'm not putting them down or anything, but unless they just came in, they should know what the quests and stuff like that give you.

Why would you want the festival game to make you watch the game...do you honestly want to spend time watching yourself stand on a freakin circle and then 10 minutes later get teleported and run back to that damn circle. Yea Lets also give the characters stamina! Because we dont want people beating the game to fast and its pretty stupid if you can run across the continent!

You arn't forced to gain a title it's a choice, just like adoption!

man seeing a afk makes me want to open a can of whoopass

Then chapter 2 comes along, and not only was it pretty disappointing and boring, but now even the chapter 2 festival is (so far) nothing more than 2 chance games, whack a worm, and dodgeball. I'm not going to turn this into an argument where people are going to say "O0mg factions is teh beste game evar!!", just my opinion.

I think once chapter 3 comes out (Which, since it is created by the chapter 1 team, should be awesome), gw should take a year off. Have both teams collectively work on what the fanbase really wants - storage, fixing skills, maybe putting real time environments, better AI, reconnects, etc. I was perfectly happy playing chapter 1 for almost a full year before i got factions, so I think with 3 chapters to play with, we should have plenty to do again. And then by the time chapter 4 is in the making, the chapter 1 team can work on that...because after this festival, I am seriously doubting the chapter 2 team.
ahem most of the stuff in this festival is happening in the finale not the upcoming events to the finaly unlike in chapter one. the designers of chapter one made chapter 2 cause its their story so i think ur wrong

This seems to be an all too common question among GW players. I don't mean to sound condescending, but you should have payed more attention in school. GMT is Greenwich Mean Time, the timezone which occurs at the Prime Meridian, which passes directly through Greenwich Village, England, and is the point on which all other timezones are based. And this little tidbit of information is usually found in any standard sixth grade geography class.

Luckily for people like you, Anet usually always posts times in two timezone references, GMT and Pacific (PST or PDT depending on the time of year). Being in the Central time zone, you are two hours ahead of Pacific (i.e., if it is 4PM PST, it is 6PM CST, which is your timezone). Hopefully, that should be easy enough for you to handle. Good luck, and enjoy the event!

Strangely enough it seems to be a common problem on the US server that players don't know what GMT is. Most players on the EU server know...

Everyone should know what their timezone is relative to GMT.

The first journey to a new continent must be done through a quest. After that, characters may travel quickly and easily using the Ship Travel icon on the world map.

Factions characters wishing to travel to Tyria for the first time should seek out Guardsman Chienpo in Kaineng Center and take the "Chaos in Kryta" quest.
Prophecies characters may travel to Cantha using the quest "Mhenlo's Request," which is offered by Firstwatch Sergio in Lion's Arch."

Characters coming from Tyria will need to take the following steps:

Travel to Cantha as described above.
Travel south through the Marketplace to Kaineng Docks.
Speak to Firstmate Xiang, who will transport you to Seitung Harbor.
Travel west through Saoshang Trail and Linnok Courtyard to reach Shing Jea Monastery."

I have tried with all 4 of my toons and sergio isn't offering the request for travel???????? is there a prerequisit???

Hence the no level cap/everyone having NO attributes/Everyone having 100HP and 60Mana...
the fact will be that armour also has been changed to help people that havent got high armour, this will make the damage go up like with any other spell

That is because GMT is on the other side ofthe planet from us (almost). We base everything off of Eastern Standard time here. (Almost no one here cares what time it is in London, but New York is useful to know - because thats what the TV schedule uses.)
